Remote Control

lyrics by Jeremy Kidd, music by Hal Lewis

I can't take what you don't offer - oh no
And I don't believe that you don't suffer
I can't take what you don't offer
I don't believe that you don't suffer
Must have lost the thread of things
Lost the chance to cut the strings
And if you asked I'd swing, I'd swing for you

Remote control
A green light shines out over the water

I won't try to say that my motives were faultless
And I can't deny you remind me of someone less thoughtless
And when I lay my head on your shoulder
You looked away, made me stand so much firmer
You stand alone in my estimation
You stand alone in my expectations
You stand alone and I will swing for you
You stand alone and I'm fierce proud of you
You stand alone, you're a law unto yourself
You stand alone

Remote control
A green light shines out over the water
A green light shines out over the water

Remote Control quotes...

One of my favourites this. I love the way the music and vocals intertwine.   Hal

"A green light shines out over the water" courtesy of F Scott Fitzgerald's Great Gatsby.   Jeremy

A tricky one for me as the first half of the track involved playing with a brush in one hand and a stick in the other. Come the upbeat bit, I often threw the brush anywhere and tried to grab a stick instead. Live, this meant plenty of cock-up potential.   Matt

Hallam.

Red Guitars  have a good guitarist in Hallam Lewis, who uses swirling African influences in the excellent Marimba Jive and Remote Control.
